What happened at the waterfall last weekend

We've been sitting with Saturday for a few days now, and honestly, it just keeps getting better in the retelling.

The forecast earlier that week had us nervous — rain was in the cards and we were watching the skies. Instead, we got one of those rare April days that reminds you why people move to Sonoma. Warm, clear, and stunning. Shortly after 1pm, the taco truck was set up, glasses were poured, and somewhere between the vineyard walk and the third waterfall plunge of the afternoon, it started to feel less like a winery event and more like the kind of day you talk about for years.

We poured all seven wines in the portfolio. Kids chased sheep and each other around the property. A few brave souls answered the waterfall's call — several times. We are grateful to everyone who came out, and for those who couldn't make it: we saved you some wine.

A note for Falls Club members: thank you for making Saturday what it was — having so many of you there in person meant everything. If you've been thinking about joining the club, this is a good moment. Members get first access to new releases, preferred pricing, and an invitation to events like this one. What's New

Three wines made their debut at Saturday's party and are now available to everyone:

'23 Estate Zinfandel — $55

From a block where the earliest vines date to 1982, our Estate Zinfandel draws on decades of deep roots and hard-won character. The '23 brings bold dark fruit — blackberry, dried cherry, and plum — with unexpected notes of fennel and anise and the kind of bright acidity that keeps a big Zinfandel honest. Old vines and a little waterfall mist make a vintage with staying power.

'23 Estate Cabernet Sauvignon — $67

The 2023 season was cool and unhurried, and our Cab shows it. This is a restrained, Old World-leaning wine — forest floor, olive, a whisper of green pepper, and a finish of orange zest and cardamom. At 12.9% alcohol, it's a Cabernet for people who believe less is more. The hillside blocks concentrated everything the season had to offer.

'25 Rosé of Petite Sirah — $35

Each vintage of this wine is its own statement. The '25 goes a little deeper — richer color, more texture — while keeping the bright, refreshing acidity that made the '24 a party favorite. Alpine strawberry, rose petal, a hint of dried hibiscus. This is serious rosé that happens to be beautiful.

Last Chance: '24 Rosé at $25

With the '25 now in the lineup, we're offering the final bottles of our '24 Rosé of Petite Sirah at $25 — down from $35. The '24 is a slightly different expression: more mineral, more saline, utterly dry. If you loved it last year, now is the time to stock up. Once it's gone, it's gone.
